In many countries, emergency response and disaster management is organized under the civil defense. ADMS is ideal to provide realistic training for professional staff and volunteers from civil defense organizations around the world. Scenarios that can be simulated range from small car incidents up to high impact events as a nuclear attack.
In 2009, ETC delivered 3 ADMS team training systems to the Civil Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), that will be located across the country. A variety of incidents and dozens of civil defense vehicles and crews will be simulated, such as a warehouse collapse, multi-story building fire, and a major traffic accident including a chemical tanker truck accident.
With the scenario generator, training staff is able to create numerous scenarios by setting fires and explosions, selecting hazardous materials, placing casualties and bystanders, and changing the time of day and weather conditions to further enhance the scenario’s realism for optimum immersion.
The performance of the students is scored by using integrated scoring sheets and results are saved in the student database. With this information, Civil Defense of KSA is able to run statistical reports on an individual and group level to identify training progress and new areas for development. The ultimate goal of using ADMS is to provide realistic training, to build experience and confidence, and to enhance the overall response performance.
